Community Partners

  • Barnstable County
    The Barnstable County Commission manages the Regional Area Network (RAN) on behalf of OpenCape. The RAN is shared 1 Gigabit fiber bandwidth available to every town with a Community Anchor location – more than 86 locations in all. CapeNet is the Commission’s RAN service provider. The bandwidth is subsidized by the Commission and provided at no cost to participating towns. The shared bandwidth can be used for Internet access, point-to-point connectivity between anchor institutions, and access to Commission initiatives for smarter government, including the ePermitting, Licensing and Inspection System.

    The CCTC is a professional business organization that facilitates technology entrepreneurship, promotes technology education for business, encourages technology curriculum at the secondary and higher education levels, and advocates digital inclusion for citizens in our region.
