Generosity Breeds Success: The Power of Giving for Growth

In 1910, industrialist turned philanthropist Andrew Carnegie was the richest man in the world. He had divested the bulk of his fortune, but not before establishing and funding over 2,500 public libraries in the United States, Britain and Canada.

Today, OpenCape is the modern-day equivalent.

We already connect 33 libraries on the Cape alone, as well as most of our region's schools. OpenCape uses our high speed, 100% Fiber Optic Network to ensure businesses can grow, expand, create jobs, and provide economic stability in our communities. Connecting municipalities, schools, research facilities, libraries, and universities is an integral part of our mission. So is ensuring our healthcare providers are equipped to take advantage of our state-of-the-art technology and enabling our public safety officials to work effectively in the worst conditions.

Invest in Your Community with OpenCape

OpenCape is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and we sincerely appreciate donations of any size. Our fundraising efforts extend to several significant community initiatives aimed at making a lasting impact.

Connecting Main Streets

OpenCape seeks funding for Main Street projects to connect businesses and create an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation that will allow towns to move beyond tourism and create year-round jobs and opportunities. These projects typically cost $300,000.

Provincetown Extension

OpenCape is eager to extend our fiber backbone down Bradford Street to the West End and back up Commercial Street, allowing us to connect many more customers in this underserved community. The build would be at 10,800 linear feet of fiber plus pole attachments.

 Village Connectivity

Imagine giving a leadership gift to connect your entire community – every household and every business. The cost for each community and project is unique.

Islands Fiber Extension

Both Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket require additional fiber strands in order to meet demand and offer service. This is a significant expense and OpenCape is currently trying to raise $6,000,000 to accomplish the task.
